Back in early June of 2016 I went on the Artyfakes training course, where you spend 2 days learning how to work with Plastazote foam and latex and get to make anything you want. With Captain America: Civil War soon to be released in cinemas I wanted to do something related to that, and as I was still in a hype about Star Wars: The Force Awakens I decided to do a mashup. A mashup that over the course of the weekend became known as "Captain Iron Fett!"

The helmet is based off of the bounty hunter Boba Fett, and is made of 8mm LD45 Plastazote foam. I used 2mm foam to add details on the Captain America half of the helmet and used pigmented latex to paint the two halves. I then cut out a piece of blue perspex for the visor and, using a heat gun, bent it into shape and glued in place. The antenna looking thing is (in the films) a viewfinder that comes down over Fett's eye. Mine doesn't move and is instead just made of foam and attached to the helmet with a piece of square carbon-fibre rod painted gold and embedded into the helmet.
