Replica of the "Moses Brothers Self-Defense Engine Frontier Model B" gun used by Malcolm Reynolds [Nathan Fillion] in the cult TV show Firefly.

Made as part of the Punished Props 100k Youtube subscriber challenge, this was an interesting build for me as I only had very limited materials as I built it outside of my usual work areas and didn't have my usual tools to hand. The challenge was to make the gun in the month of December 2016 and submit a 10 second video. [Click here for the final video]

I made it out of EVA foam and some dowel (or rather, an old pencil because I wouldn't have been able to get any dowel and make this in time...) and painted it with acrylics. I also decided to try out using oil paints to weather for the first time, which worked out really well and is something I will be doing again in the future.

I wish I had done a few things differently and would change them if I could, but overall I am super happy with this build!
