x26 Tasers

Custom Commission

Both Tasers
Both Tasers In Holsters
Holster Front and Back

In July 2016 I was commissioned to make a pair of tasers for a short web-series. The tasers needed to look like real tasers that are actually used by various police forces, but needed to be cheap and withstand being thrown around. Therefor I decided to make them out of EVA foam.

The reference image that the client sent me was of a plain blue plastic dummy version that is used for training purposes. Because the props had to look like the real tasers they couldn't just be blue, so I had to find out what the actual tasers looked like.

During the research I came across a data sheet with blueprints, giving me the actual dimensions. Using these measurements I drew up my own blueprints on Illustrator and printed them out.

As I was making this during the summer holidays I wasn't able to access the workshop at university, so I had very limited tools at my disposal; just some knives and an almost worn out dremel.

Considering that I hadn’t had much experience with foam prop building up to this point, I think they turned out very well. There are more than a few things I wish I had done differently, but for the situation I was in they turned out great
